纽约大都会歌剧院高清转播系列
从2007年1月24日起，刚刚走马上任不久的大都会歌剧院总经理Peter Gelb一手促成的高清歌剧转播正式上马，当日首部直播的歌剧是莫扎特的《魔笛》。直到2013年年底，转播的歌剧已经达到73部，每一个演出季都有十部左右的制作被直播到全美的电影院和中学礼堂。从2011年开始，中国也尝试在歌剧院中转播这个系列。这些录像有相当部分发行了商业DVD和蓝光。

德国电影和剧场导演、行为艺术家克里斯多弗·施林根西夫在九十年代末进军电视界，努力瓦解这一媒介的固有模式，使得艺术与政治之间的界限愈发模糊。他1997年为德国私立电视台RTL和Sat 1以及奥地利公共广播集团ORF制作的8集脱口秀节目“Talk 2000"是其中最为著名的作品。施林根西夫宣称，他想通过这部脱口秀节目证明，任何人都可以成为谈话节目的主持，以此嘲讽了常见的政论节目中嘉宾与主持之间毫无意义的喋喋不休。这部节目后来被称作电视讽刺节目的始祖。
