故事从七个朋友的相聚开始：
白领尚小怡和男友、电台主持人白凯文刚刚瞒着父母领了结婚证，搬进了某公寓的505室；郑南(模特)和郑北(摄影师)一对双胞胎姐弟自幼丧母，一直依赖有钱父亲的财政支持，住在对面的506室。
某一天，郑南、郑北的大学女同学伊丹不幸丢了营销经理的工作，却很理直气壮地搬进了506室；而凯文的大学同学、工程师李帆因为生意和爱情受了挫折，来到大都市谋求东山再起的机遇，却由于打游戏机是高手而被郑北也请进了506成了室友。
公寓楼下的水吧“阿布拧吧”从此理所当然地成了大家休闲的去处，几个回合后阿布也成了哥们。
从此，七个人成了一个小社会，都在生活的同一个起跑线上，为了自己的热情、爱情、友情、亲情--总之是为了快乐地活着--而打拼。在面对大社会的同时，七个人之间也发生了错综复杂的情感故事。
