1937年，“满铁”公司出资的电影公司“满映”成立 它是伪满洲国管理电影摄制发行和放映的专门机构在满映存在的8年里，共拍摄故事片、纪录片300余部，大部分都是对中国国内的政治宣传片，极尽歪曲真相、奴化国民之能事，随着1945年日本战败，满映解体， 满映部分资料胶片流失到前苏联，后来日本人高价购回，制成音像制品发行，在这些纪录片资料中，其中就有大量关于末代皇帝溥仪的真实生活纪录，《王道灿烂》 拍摄于1942年，片长39分钟，为纪念“伪满洲国”成立10周年而拍，从日俄战争讲起，回顾了10年历史，其中重点是满洲事变后，溥仪粉墨登场的这段历史，为我们留下了日本侵略铁证之余，也为后人留下了当年，历史现场的宝贵资料。
